SONY E3 2014 : A QUICK LOOK AT DYING LIGHT

Like everyone who has played Dying Light, I spent most of my time in the game running for my life and swearing to the point of awkwardness. But at this year’s E3, I saw a little taste of just how deep the ‘survival’ aspect of Dying Light’s survival action actually runs.

“We iterate the game constantly. There are new builds daily. We have people playing it every day. I think it was Todd Howard from Bethesda who said ‘good games are played, not made’ and that’s absolutely true. Content-wise, the game is pretty much done. So we’re using the time we have left to play the game and polish it. Not only in terms of assets, but in terms of balance. We just play the game a lot. And make sure each part feels just right.”

I hope the final game manages to strike that balance, because with its sound grasp of tension,  crunchy weapons and multiple ways in which to traverse its gameworld, Dying Light is feeling very right indeed.
